Beginning in Chicago television production in the early 1980s, i was trained by some of the best… and shot news, industrial and documentary programming for ABC and many private production entities. During my days as a full-time shooter I worked on some of the first news coverage of the American AIDS crisis, investigative journalism in Washington DC, and a five-part news mini-series celebrating Rosa Parks and her part in the Civil Rights movement.
I moved into management in the late 1980s as Producer/Production Manager in corporate communications, spending 21 years at the Detroit agency mvp collaborative, where I learned to budget, produce media and manage live events worldwide, which have included entertainers kd lang, Wyclef Jean, The Ojays, The Brian Setzer Orchestra, and others.
Today I do a lot of work pro-bono for non-profit organizations such as The Asian Classics Input Project, dedicated to supporting and employing Tibetan refugees and native women in India, Mongolia and Russia…and Diamond Cutter Discussion Groups, a free program focused on helping people learn the true causes for success in business and life.
I still always find myself looking through the eyes of a DP...I see a shot and have the urge to capture it. In my work as a Project Manager I always hope to bring beauty to the everyday. I spend only a little time at home in the canyon… It’s more likely that you’ll find me somewhere else…maybe working on a film or tv project, a live event or non-profit start-up….or maybe teaching Diamond Cutter principles.
