Where I’ve been all these years

Video Segments

We are often bound by confidentiality or a performing artist’s contract to refrain from recording any video, so I don't have much good video of the headline entertainers I have worked with...but I do have a few things that are fun to watch....

Las Vegas Time Elapse

Wanna see a large four-day installation boiled down to two and a half minutes? This time elapse video was shot with two cameras mounted in the ceiling steel of a 200,000 square-foot hall at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas, and recorded on Sony CRV optical disk(!). The show kit included 1,300 lighting instruments on over 3,000 feet of truss, and required a crew of 150 of the most talented individuals that Las Vegas IATSE and IBEW had to offer. Three separate venues were constructed inside the space: an Automotive Historical Museum, a Main Presentation Stage and a Dinner Theater. Too bad we haven’t figured out how do them this fast in real life….yet!

VW GTI Reveal

A nice little gag we did at the Chicago Auto Show….nice simple set built by Chicago Scenic, driving by Jamie Vondruska.

Scott Vacek Videographer Demo Reel

Well, in the early days all I did was shoot, and I loved it….here is an early demo reel.

SkydivePV 12-01

Ok this has nothing to do with production but fun to watch! Well, there were some extreme times a few years ago…and yes, I used to bleach my hair. I’m the guy in the white jumpsuit—I don’t jump anymore, and don’t recommend it because too many of my friends have gotten hurt or worse, but it was fun for a while.

52-way record

Another gratuitous skydiving video, this time from the perspective of the airplane I was on…one of three. This 52-way formation was a Michigan Stage record in 2003.
